Zelda Indigo Chapter 2
Indigo: Chapter 2 is a standout demo that showcases the huge potential of what could become one of the most ambitious Ocarina of Time mods to date. While it’s still a work in progress, the level of polish, creativity, and lore makes it feel like more than just a preview.
Set 15 years after Majora’s Mask in the child timeline, the story follows a more mature Hero of Time, now living in solitude in Valana. The world-building is deep and atmospheric, introducing a fresh setting while staying faithful to the Zelda universe. Tatl’s return and the search for Tael add an emotional spark to the narrative.
What really shines are the new gameplay mechanics and items — the feather, which gives Link a high jump, and the rusted anchor, which acts like a heavy-hitting weapon, open up fun new ways to explore and fight. The maps are detailed, the dungeons are cleverly designed, and even the enemy placements feel deliberate and challenging.
That said, it’s still just a demo, so it ends before you’re ready to stop playing. But if this is just a taste of what’s to come, the full version of Indigo could easily stand alongside the best ROM hacks ever made.
